MWSIP has planned institutional development that includes both informal and formal training schedules for key stakeholders. The Program has undertaken a Training Needs Assessment (TNA) of the MMDE, MASL and DOI to identify gaps and opportunities for raising their capacity in support of the investment program and its implementation. Capacity development & training includes aspects of tunnel and dam design, procurement, contract management, construction supervision, water management, environmental and social components, and operation and maintenance. Following approval of the TNA by the PMU and ADB, the PMDSC is assisting MMDE with developing and implementing the training plan, including programming, scheduling and managing logistics of the training, institutional development and awareness-raising. Training programs are financed by the MWSIP under a separate budget.
