The Mahaweli Water Security Investment Program (MWSIP) took another step to share knowledge and information about the Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) and the tunneling process with the public at the Techno Exhibition 2025, organized by the Institution of Engineers Sri Lanka (IESL) from 10 to 12 October at BMICH, Colombo.
It was a great opportunity to showcase the Mahaweli Water Security Investment Program (MWSIP), particularly the North Central Province Canal Project (NCPCP) and its tunnel boring process using the Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM).
A detailed TBM model, 3D maps illustrating the project area, informational booklets, and video clips were displayed at the Water Forum stall during the exhibition.
Officials from the technical and communication teams efficiently facilitated the event, helping a large number of visitors understand the tunneling process and appreciate the project’s achievements. Visitors showed great interest and appreciation for the innovative tunneling technology.
