ADB Reconnaissance Mission

From July 2 to July 13, 2024, a team from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) conducted a reconnaissance mission for an upcoming project. The team included Yaozhou Zhou (Principal Water Resources Specialist/Team Leader),Mr. Yousef Almulhem, (Country Manager – OPEC Fund), Sanath Ranawana (Principal Water Resources Specialist), and Krishanthi Manohari Dabare (Associate Project Officer, Rural Development). Other ADB specialists, including those based in the Sri Lanka Resident Mission, joined the mission discussions both in-person and virtually.
🔍 The mission aimed to meet with government officials and key stakeholders to discuss and finalize various aspects of the proposed project. The discussions covered the project scope, outcomes, outputs, initial costs, financing plan, and implementation arrangements. They also addressed preparation needs such as climate change analysis, procurement, financial management assessments, environmental and social safeguards, and social and gender aspects. Additionally, the mission reviewed preparatory technical assistance requirements, including scope, cost estimates, expertise needed, and implementation plans, and established a tentative processing timeline and action plan.
