A key highlight of the MWSIP Stage 02 mission was the field visit along the proposed NCPCP canal trace 🌿
The visit, held as part of the appraisal mission from 25th March to 4th April 2026, brought together representatives from the OPEC Fund, including Country Manager Mr. Bozhang Su and Senior Environmental & Social Specialist Ms. Ines Fejzic.
During the visit, nine strategically selected locations were carefully inspected to assess ground conditions, environmental and social considerations, and technical feasibility of the proposed infrastructure.
The mission was strongly supported by the teams from the Project Management Unit (PMU), Project Implementation Unit (PIU), and Project Management, Design and Supervision Consultants (PMDSC). Their subject specialists provided detailed technical inputs and on-site explanations, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of the project scope and implementation readiness.
This field engagement played a crucial role in strengthening collaboration among stakeholders and reaffirming the commitment of all partners, including the OPEC Fund, under the co-financing arrangement for Stage 02 development.
