Mr. S.S. Mudalige, Director General of the Department of Project Management and Monitoring at the Ministry of Finance, Planning, and Economic Development, along with key officials, recently conducted a two-day site visit (July 25-26) to assess the progress of MWSIPs canal projects.
During the visit, the team inspected the completed canal section in the North Western Province and reviewed the ongoing work on the 28 km tunnel canal in the North Central Province. They also visited the completed Minipe Anicut and the ongoing renovations at the left bank gate.
This productive monitoring visit reaffirmed the team’s commitment to fast-tracking the projects and overcoming existing financial challenges. The program director of MWSIP, Eng. Nihal Siriwardhana; project director of NWPCP, KMTC & MLBCRP Eng. Indika Kumara; Project director of NCPCP Eng. Senavirathna Banda, alongside key officials from MWSIP, actively participated in the observation visit.
