Communications
A detailed strategy has be put in place for achieving the communication objectives of the Program. MWSIP includes a communication component for sharing information among stakeholders and the general public to ensure transparency and accountability, and to increase the visibility of the entire Program. MWSIP has devised strategic communication approaches that are linked with Program identity guidelines, which are expected to enable the Program to create a positive impact among the people in a range of different ways.
Through the communication component, MWSIP aims to achieve a high degree of two-way communication. MWSIP has planned for various communication activities under a range of areas, including stakeholder engagement, media engagement, public relations, media events, and application of online communication tools, including social media.
The Communication cell of the MWSIP supports the establishment of the operational GRM within the Program to respond to stakeholder enquiries. PIUs are strengthened with the required human resources to implement the Program’s communication plan. The PIU’s communication arm is working towards awareness creation among stakeholders, including PAPs, and to forming an effective GRM to hear the grievances. MWSIP has developed a living document – the “Stakeholder Communication Strategy” (SCS) – encompassing all communication aspects of the Program. Information, Education & Communication (IEC) materials are developed in accordance with the communication work plan and on demand to cater for the outward communication of the Program. MWSIP’s website is a a key component of the communication efforts.
