A three-day Training program on Model Studies – RiverWare, SWAT, and IDA was successfully conducted from 6th to 8th November 2025 at the Hector Kobbekaduwa Agrarian Research and Training Institute (HARTI), Colombo 07.
The training program brought together participants from key partner institutions, including the Ministry of Agriculture, Land and Irrigation (MoALLI), Irrigation Department (ID), Mahaweli Authority of Sri Lanka (MASL), National Water Supply and Drainage Board (NWS&DB), and the Central Engineering Consultancy Bureau (CAN).
The sessions were conducted by Mr. Hans Angrrob, Team Leader of the Water Balance Study from the Water Resources Specialist Team of the TA Consultants, along with Eng. Anura Ranwala and Eng. Lahiru from the Project Management, Design and Supervision Consultant (PMDSC) team.
The training aimed to strengthen the technical capacity of national agencies in using advanced water resources modeling tools—RiverWare, SWAT, and IDA—to support integrated water management and decision-making under the ongoing water resources development initiatives.
