Priority Species are Translocated in NWPCP

The new contract packages to be awarded in NCPCP covers around 165 ha , out of which, majority of the area consists of lands belongs to the Forest Department and Department of Wildlife Conservation. A comprehensive Ecological Survey was carried out by the Environment Specialists and inspected all the pants and animal species in the affected area and made arrangements to conserve all the Endemic, threatened and other environmentally sensitive species before handing over the sites to State Timber Corporation for removal of trees . Some of the endemic floral species were collected and maintained in a net house at the PIU/NCPCP, these species will be planned to be transplanted  inside the similar forest areas  in the year end rainy season.

Priority Species to be translocation /transplant

Species collection for translocation was done in parallel to the biodiversity survey. All newly recorded species (other than those recorded in IUCN and MMD&E, 2017) were evaluated using species prioritized criteria given in the Wildlife Management Plan (IUCN and MMD&E, 2017) and were rescued as appropriate.
