New Range Building for DWC

A newly constructed range office  staff quarters in Heratgama, located in the Polpithigama AGA division, have been officially handed over to the Department of Wildlife Conservation (DWC). The building, complete with necessary furnishings, was funded by the Mahaweli Water Security Investment Program.

Although primarily focused on irrigation development, the Mahaweli Water Security Investment Program also supports the needs of its stakeholders. As part of the project’s wildlife management plan, these new facilities were constructed to address a long-standing issue faced by the DWC.

The handover ceremony was attended by officials from both the Mahaweli Water Security Investment Program and the DWC, who expressed relief at the resolution of this long-pending matter.
